Timber Quarters

Place: Plain

Project: From a plan book, this SIPS house (Structured Insulated Panel System), has a covered surround porch with large overhangs that protect the glass prow front from the hot summer sun. Entering the house one feels the history of the reclaimed timbers from a 100 year old fruit shed in Cashmere. The same vertical grain old-growth fir was also used for an exquisite 6” thick kitchen counter.

Special Feature: Staircase detail - The owner gave Roger a drawing of a dogwood vine which he then hand carved into one of the stairway posts.

Testimonial: "We are very proud of our home, thanks to Roger Rumann and his staff. After seven years we still have people stopping to take pictures or take a tour though the house." Pat Johnson-Bohn
